How to make N/A, Turbo?

I was wondering, how do I go about converting my N/A to turbo? I'm not sure if there is a turbo kit fo Rx7, since they already have a turbo model. Or do I have to do some stuff first before dropping a turbo? Someone please help me!

If you’re trying to do that, I believe that the best way is to
1. Buy a Turbo Model RX-7
Or
2. Buy a 13bT engine and Tyranny
If you just "Added" a turbo, you would still have to Beef-up your tyranny as well, meaning more $$$

A friend of mine said if I do turbo it, I'll be running low psi, because n/a engines are higher compression. But he isn't to sure if it's the same with a rotary.

I believe thats true. But you would want to search for Aaron Cakes website, he has more than enough info on there on turboing a N/A

Dave at what was formally FC3S.ORG but now Speedmachine performance has put together a Turbo Kit for the N/A 7's. Give them a call.

I was wondering, could I swap the upper & lower intake manifold, the injectors and other stock tll stuff and use a stock s4 or s5 turbo with manifold?

GUITARJUNKIE28 05-11-04 04:18 AM

nope.

the irons are different on the 6 port motors.
what you might be able to get away with is leaving your intake manifolds, and just using the s4 or s5 (s5 preferably) turbo.
i've never done it that way, so i don't know if it'll bump the turbo into the manifold or what---and you'll still have to worry about running the oil adn coolant lines to the turbo.

front clip donors are, in my opinion, the best way to go. there's every part you need to make it work for about $2500

One more thing.. the TII's are 4-ports
