How does a Rotary stand up to..
I ask this question in the fear that I may sound like a "Fast and Furious" dweeb but, how does a Rotary stand up to Nitrous Oxide?
What is the biggest "shot" that a rotary can handle? What work should be done to make sure it doesn't hurt the engine, if any? Thank you much. |
go turbo... rotaries love turbo... squeezing NOS is an option, but not advisable, because hp is only for a limited amount... then you'll have to refill... but I've heard rx-7 owners squeezing 100 shot wet nos... don't do it unless you know what your doing

The rotary will take a surprising amount of nitrous if done properly. Many people just simply install a system and then crank up the juice but don't worry about tuning. You'll blow up any engine at this point with this method. I wouldn't just slap on couple of jets and spray to your hearts content. If you decided to use a staged or progressive controller you could get some pretty sizeable shots to work. Make sure you get a good fuel system upgrade and find a way to tune the engine. Preferrably with a standalone ecu. Timing control is just as important as fuel. I wouldn't see why you couldn't get away with 150 shot if you did it right. Scathcart had somewhere around a 200 shot dual stage setup on a T-II. PM him about setting up a system properly.

I know of bridge ported racing engines using 375 hp shot of nitrous while reving more than 10000RPM.
