housing compatibility between s4 and s5
 

My TII side housings are apparently trashed. These are from an 87, will S5 front, mid and rear housings work? I understand that they have different port sizes, but is there anything preventing these being drop-in replacements or even swapping with mods necessary?

Any input would help; I'm not currently in the position to buy new and haven't found much in the way of availability in low-mileage S4 stuff.

Sure, the parts all basically swap out.
Just keep in mind the o-ring installation on the front iron is a little different - the S5 requires the white plastic ring and gasket.

Thanks for the link, Ted. I looked at your site a while ago, you mention different port sizes between the two engines, this is just the actual port in the side, not where it mates up to the LIM?

It's the actual ports on the combustion side.
The S5 turbo opens 10-degrees later, so the port is actually smaller versus S4.
