just pulled the rear housing for a swap
it is my gsl-se engine with about 100,000 miles on it
just got some pic of it
does the housing looks bad to any of you?

It doesn't look to be in the best of shape.

What does that gouge by the exhaust port reall like? If you finger nail catches on it its junk. If its smooth you may be able to reuse but its not going to build outstanding compression. Looks like you had some apex seal chatter as well. It does have 100k on it, these thing dont last for ever.

you can reuse those if you're poor--just sand down any ridges on the gouges until they're flush.

of course if you have the dinero, hit up some new ones.

yep, it should be replaced, but if you didnt it would run

As long as the damage isn't on the compression side of the housing, you will be fine. As mentioned earlier, sand them down to remove any nicks.

i definitly would not use that housing. did the motor blow a seal?
