Hesitation....

Perhaps you can help diagnose my problem. I have a 93 rx7 touring. In the last few days the car seems to be hesitating when it accelarates. It doesn't bogg or such, but it doesnt seem to have the power it used to. If I floor it at say 70mph the techtometer goes up very slowly and it takes a long time to reach 100mph. In fact once it gets at 100 mph it wont go any faster.

The car has 114k on it. Can a bad muffler cause this? How about old oil in the system? I have one of those washable high performance air filters. I cleaned it because it looked like it was full of oil....(Recently in a shop).
Your comments are appreciated.....

You might want to post this in the 3rd gen area because there are more people who look there.

I have a TT Cosmo and can maybe shed some light.

You could have some vacuum hose problems. They get brittle and crack so maybe your second turbo is not working right. There is a flapper in the mani that opens to allow exhaust to spool the turbo and if it doesn't open, you get crap boost.

A clogged cat can also cause problems so you could take it off and look through it.

Check you plugs, wires, etc..

I think a tune up and check the flow through the exhaust system and check the boost. Can you get a gauge to check your boost pattern?
