Help! My husband passed away and I have his 1993 RX7. Need auto shop in St Paul, MN.

Hi, my husband has been a member since 2008. He just passed away in Oct 1. :tear: I have a complicated situation with his RX7. Three years ago, he took it to a shop to have it upgraded. The shop's mechanic left the shop so the owner got stuck with a car that has been taken apart and he knows nothing about fixing it up. We had been patiently waiting for two years for him to fix the car so in the end, we were able to have him purchase the car by setting up a contract. He just started to pay us monthly this year. Now after my husband is gone, he is claiming he has no money to continue so he wants me to grab the car. It is supposedly fixed through another shop but I want to get it checked. Can somone graciously give me some shops they trust and know of about 30 miles of St. Paul, MN? At the moment, I may just lose out either way. I hope someone can help me in any way...I recalled that my husband used to read the RX7 forum and I was lucky to find this online. I took a guess that he may have signed up with this forum and he did! Thank you.

I unfortunately do not know of any shops in the area but I wanted to send my condolences to you and his family.

A post in the regional section might help

Might be able to get a local look at it

I'm sorry for your loss.
I had advised my wife should I pass who to talk to about selling or maintaining my RX7.
She always gets mad at me for bringing it up but it is a reality.

are you trying to sell the car as-is, finish it and sell it, or fix it and keep it? Best of luck to you.

first i am really sorry to hear about your loss... i recently lost my father in the begining of june and know the pain of losing a loved one and dealing with possible issues on this is the last thing you want to deal with... the shop that comes to mind for me is turblown they are in ramsey MN and know their rotaries! TURBLOWN - Turbo Kits, Turbochargers, Engine Rebuilds and Car Parts

also i do get up near the cities pretty regularly since my brother lives near wilmar mn and if you cant get a time to go to turblown i would be more than happy to look it over for you when i am up that way also. i dont have a shop but i have been working on rotaries for 12 yrs and have built my fc from the ground up and my fd along with helped many people in my home town with their cars also i have the right tools to check the compression and such. just let me know i will drive up the extra distance no charge and let you know what i think.

Passing

Hi Rob XX 7,
Death is not something that most of us like to talk about but death will come to us all.
My suggestion is get a will. It will definitely help her or you to plan ahead what to do if you or her pass away.
I'm glad I paid a little attention to what he likes to do. I can't imagine if I was out of the loop on this...
I am going to get it check to see what the condition is then decided. Is it worth to fix and sell or sell as is. This will help me know how to sell it too and let the buyer know what they are getting into. It's not fair to get someone into a mess of hairball...I'll try to do as best as I can to figure this out.

I thank you for your response! Mika
