Help
I am looking for someone local (Not an overpriced shop) to come over and show me how to tune the engine in my 88 rx7 so that it runs properly. I will compensate for your time.
I live in Perkasie PA. If you want to make a quick $50 bucks. |
I would hate to say this, but assuming that you car is pretty much stock. there may not be alot that can be done.
you have of course... changed your plugwires and put in new NGK plugs inspected and replaced vacuum lines inspected electrical connections for corrosion could not hurt to replace : air filter, o2 sensor, belts, and coolant hoses. you may also want to find out about the TPS (throttle position switch) that can get out of adjustment at times. In full disclosure, I have been more of a first gen guy, but had owned a TII years back. unfortunatly without detailed descriptions it is hard for us to point you in the right direction. |
there may not be alot that can be done. --Can you explain why?
you have of course... changed your plugwires and put in new NGK plugs--yes inspected and replaced vacuum lines--Some of them but not all of them as of yet, gonna do a propane test on it this weekend inspected electrical connections for corrosion--yes could not hurt to replace : air filter, o2 sensor, belts, and coolant hoses.--GREAT IDEA, THANKS you may also want to find out about the TPS (throttle position switch) that can get out of adjustment at times.--- I will do some research into it. I will try and tune it following the advice on these pages but I will be leaning on all you experts for guidance, Thank you in advance for the advice and the future help I will need. |
unless it's running an aftermarket ecu, there's not any real "tuning" that can be done. the stock ecu doesn't allow it.
