GT3582R Twin Scroll Turbo

hi guys,

first post here from the land down under. I have took some time to read around on the forum and see what all you guys suggest or recommend.

I have been speaking to my local rota mechanic and he has suggested that i go with the GT35R T3 Housing. Question regarding the GT35 is there a benefit to going twin scroll as this offers up a T4 flange?

I see a lot of threads on BW as well and a few people here in Aus are running precision turbos as well.

I have an FD extend port with aviation seals rebuilt 30.000km's ago as well.

I know its another turbo post but advances happen all the time with new developments and maybe one of you has some first hand experience that you would care to share as of recent!

I am wanting to hit the 400hp mark street use but still goes hard.

Thanks in advance for your time most appreciated.

Definitely go t4 divided if you want 400+. A buddy of mine has a t3 35r and while it spools nice it falls off on top and he's only at 360whp. Tune would need to be more aggressive to hit 400whp and will definitely fall off on top just the same.

thanks for that mate.

yeah seems to be the go for what i need.

thanks again

I have a GT3574R, ball bearing GT35 with a larger 74MM P-trim wheel. The turbo I think would do very well at sea level, I wish it spooled a little earlier at high altitudes.

it has a .84 T4 divided housing and definitely doesn't taper off up top (I run 1 bar boost).

the guy im dealing with at the moment suggests running an X wheel as well

im starting to get my head around it all

he said GTX35R twin scroll with T4 housing and n "X" wheel.

i still wont be driving it everyday but i dont want to be running high boost 1 bar etc is sufficient but as mentioned chasing that 400hp

Gtx are supposed to be the duck's nuts. For similar money though you can have a BW EFR 8374 IWG which negates the need to purchase wastegates and bovs znd the fab-work involve in fitting them. Apparently unparraleled levels of spool too.
I wish i had got one but the jury was still out on them at the time .

I personally would buy a EFR8374 IWG model since the value is better. I also think the spool is better and power is good. The IWG also eliminates the loud noise from an open dump wastegate or the complexity of plumbing it back into the exhaust. It also has a benefit of a simpler exhaust manifold, and can be super short for better spool. I think this is the ideal set up.

If I went with a low boost option it seems like the cast compressor wheels are better for flow than the billet machined wheels which come alive at higher boost. regardless both are close.
