grounding stuff?

Hey, guys my 87' N/A had been sitting forever when I bought it for $200 (I practacly stole the thing). It runs great but some I thinking it is not ground well somewhere. How do you ground the engine and the ECU? I figured that will help. I am going to clean all the electrical connections too.

If you simply want to ground the engine, it's probably already been done for you, albeit not as well as it could be. 3rd gens tend to have this problem, and the way most ppl fix it is to ground the engine to the chassis using really heavy gauge wire (like 4 gauge). I've also seen people ground the engine to the chassis in *multiple* places, just to be sure, as well as simply grounding the battery to the chassis (though this might not be a sound thing to do...).

Make sure that your connections to the chassis and engine are clean and free of dirt, oil and paint, and you should be fine. Also, be sure to either use a threadlocker or lock washer to prevent your grounds from coming loose over time.
