GReddy NEW 'E-manage Ultimate'

seems like Greddy have realeased a new version

bigger better deal..

Since I can't read japanese I can't make it out :P

from what I gather tho, it can Convert from MAF to MAP signal... Bye bye AFM!

dunno if it will be cost effective compared to Goin Full standalone tho..

Uh, no it doesn't.

I just ran it through Babelfish (the Japanese was way over my head!), and there is no mention of replacing MAF with MAP.
Unless the translation is that screwy, it does mentioned that the MAF signal can be altered only - no biggie, it's just a fancy AFC...still.

" This is Greddy's new e-manage called the 'E-manage Ultimate', was spotted at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2005, it will be sold in the USA approximately August of 2005 along side the blue e-manage. The blue e-manage MSRP for $379usd, the 'Ultimate E-manage' is sold in Japan for about $605 usd, might be sold in the USA in the range of $700-800, the 'Ultimate E-manage' got a total makeover in the hardware department! I got information that with this new unit we will be able to convert from MAF to MAP..."

The first URL you posted mentioned nothing about converting MAF to MAP signals...

for $7-800 you might as well go with a stand alone.

ya that's what I'm wondering

if it's like FCON vs FCON pro... Pro being a real standalone..

or maybe it's like SAFC vs SAFC II

i'm not really sure... I asked a JDM friend of mine to translate and dig aroudn the site a little more more Information about it if he could...

we'll see what he can dig up...

The things I've heard it's that it has closed loop wideband control. I do not know if it is still a piggyback.

Pretty sure its still a piggyback, just like the old overpriced POS one. Might as well get a entry level standalone...Iv had the system twice and hated it.

how can you say that? have you even bothered looking at the features list:

- Airflow Output Map
- Anti Engine Stall Feature
- Injection Adjustment Map
- Acceleration Injection Map
- Individual Cylinder Injection Adj. & Individual Cylinder Ignition Adj. Maps
- Vehicle Speed Correction Map (load correction)
- Coolant Temp Correction Map
- Intake Air Temp Correction Map
- Rev Limiter Cut
- A/F Target Value Map (using wideband O2 signal)
- Ignition Adjustment Map
- Acceleration Ignition Map
- Analog Output Map (eliminates "boost cut" on FC3S)
- Idle Stabilization Map
- Fouled Plug/De-Flood feature (startup fuel cut)
- Data Logging: Samplings can be recorded at 20msec on up to different 8 channels on the unit itself and over 30 when using the included software. The data can be recorded even when the PC is not connected.

and no one has given me a straight answer yet, but Greddy mentions something about a "Mazda Hotwire Airflow Meter Adapter". not too sure if this allows replacement of the AFM with a hot wire type meter, but that's what some people are saying.

and comparing brand new prices, even with all the available functionality this new e-manage is a little over HALF the cost of a fully packaged lower end standalone...

You don't understand the direction GReddy is trying to go in the U.S. market.
They are trying to get CARB approval fo the majority of their products.

Eliminating the stock AFM basically makes this impossible.
I'd be surprised if the stock AFM is removable.

Right now you're making claims on statements off a brochure.
That's just as bad.

what's wrong with listing the features off the brochure? i didn't comment on how well they worked, just saying what is possible with it.

i hadn't thought of the whole CARB approval thing, but was the last e-manage CARB certified?

as i said, i don't know about replacing the stock AFM, still trying to find out about that....

really the point i'm trying to make is that it's a good middle ground to the simple AFCs and the standalones, especially for people who want the extra tuning but don't want to go to a standalone. many will say just spend the little bit extra for a standalone, but it's not just a LITTLE more, and installation requires quite a bit of work.

i just don't think you should be making such blatant comments like "it's just a fancy AFC...still". come on, you could easily spend a few more seconds to give a less cynical answer Ted.

- Aaron

edit: i'm going to call Greddy next week and see if i can get a definitive answer about this "Mazda Hotwire Airflow Meter Adapter" feature
