Glowshift wideband sensor question

I’ve always had good luck with glowshift so I bought their wideband kit for my build (S5 turbo). I’ve searched and searched but most threads are older and state the sensor has to be 20 to 30 inches downstream. The instructions with mine (with Bosch sensor) say minimum 6 inches from exhaust port. My corksport exhaust has a bung about 2 inches behind the turbo outlet that would work great (and is more than 6 inches from the exhaust ports). Will this work for me or is it still best to go further downstream? I didn’t know if newer sensors handled the heat better and as stated, most threads I searched were quite old. Would love to use that already installed bung if possible. Thanks.

Zeitronix states 18 inches for their 4.2 and 4.9 sensors. I think aem says the same. It's the distance I've always used.
