Getting familiar with my 7 overheating problems

S5 1991 N/A model GTU.
I've had the car for since DEC. of 08 but with work, holidays I haven't had the time to learn the car and all the components. That being said I have ran in too some trouble. A pipe has a Crack on it and steam was coming out of it. I think it is the coolant line but I really have no idea -_-. Before the incident I had just Bleed the clutch and added brake fluid. I also noted the oil pressure Gauge was Low. I checked the Oil level and it was below the L line so I added about Half a quart and I think that's what might have caused the car to Overheat and crack this pipe. The car still start's and is drivable but being scared of engine damage caused by overheating I am not driving it. I am aware of limited knowledge of Car's and even less with Rotary's. Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks again. I added a picture Of where the crack is. (car in picture belongs to CaliJB Thanks to CaliJB for adding his pictures http://picasaweb.google.com/jmiller....37868224970658 |
That's the coolant pipe so replace that pipe or for temporary fix clean the cracked area and use jb weld.

Keep adding coolant when car cools down, never let the car overheat which could mean water jacket seal failure.

Thanks now Do I add it to the plastic container in the front of the car that says I should add it 50/50 with water?
