Fuel question regarding upgraded carbs...

I just got a set of weber 48 IDA carbs with manifold for my car and I have not put them on yet. Now once I put them on is it true that I will have to run premixed gas cause the new carb does not support the oil injection line that the stock one had ???

Drill small holes for the oil lines if you do not wont to pre mix. this should be easy to think out . Good skill

Get the two tubes from the orig carb and trim it to retain the stubby end. Say between ¼ - ½ long. It will need to be mounted in the upper section of the fuel bowl. Before drilling the two holes, remove the cover and determine where it would go. As I indicated above, the ideal place will be the most upper section and right above the float. Use JB weld to secure it and make sure that the tubes are flush with the inside walls; otherwise, it may interfere with the float movement.

How much did you buy the carb. Did you guys know that the new IDA's are here? My local partshouse have them for $600/each.

Hey Mel, FYI JB Weld is not gasoline resistant. Devcon Aluminum Putty does much better with gas, and is stronger than JB.
