Fuel pump swap.

I have bought a 1986 rx7 gxl as my new project. The only thing that is wrong with it is it needs the fuel pump replaced and needs fuel pump rewiring. I found an mx3 that I can get for cheap. I was wondering if the mx3 fuel pump would fit onto the rx7 at all. Don't want to buy a brand new one if I have to.

Also I found a twin turbo from an fd3s for cheap. Would that fit in my car at all? Has anybody done it?

welcome to the board. :)

all i will say on the MX-3 pump is this: i doubt it is the same.

my advice: just get the right pump ... especially since you seem to be getting ideas of turbocharging. you'd be NEEDING more fuel for that anyway, so keep that in mind.

as for using the REW turbos, can it be done? sure. should you do it? probably not. if you're not willing to decisively commit to a simple fuel pump for the engine in (what i assume is) stock form. you'd be in for world of hurt and failure trying to making your N/A 13B run with REW twins.

Alright thanks for the advice.

Walbro fuel pumps are cheap and a new fuel pump is good assurance. Im in the process of rewiring my fuel pump and the rewiring costs more than the walbro
