Fuel pump problems

Ok, I'm helping my friend install a walbro 255 in tank pump and it's getting poor flow and pressure. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Could it be a voltage/ampage issue or a fuel regulator issue? Anyone got any fuel system experience? Thanks

The first thing i would check is the fuel filter, it could be clogged. Then check all the connections and make sure you are the pump is getting the correct voltage.

what car? /\ filter is a good thing to do. what regulator? how did you wire it? is the pick up for the pump full submerged

It's a GSS 341 pump if that helps any. We checked the wiring and fuel filter and they look good. The pickup is definitely submerged with a full tank. The pump is using the existing wiring which be fine for it. If it was a current draw issue with the existing lines, it should blow the fuse. I don;t know off the top of my head about the regulator, but I can find out. Does the walbro have a any sort of built-in pressure release valve?

Did you use the o-ring, sleeve, and cap form the stock pump when you changed the pumps over? If you did not, there is no seal between the pump and tube which will give you very poor fuel pressure.
