Fuel problem...i think...

I found a 87 Rx-7 for 800$ and figured it might be a fun project.....It drove fine for a little while then started hesitating and dying so I checked replaced the fuel filter and it drove fine for a little while longer, then started acting up again... I checked in the tank and there was a lot of rust so I replaced the tank and everything in the tank (fuel pump and holder) so no rust would start back up again...but now it wont go past 4000 rpms easilly...any suggestions? It goes past 4000 only if you press on the accelerator a little bit but if you go all out it acts like it isnt getting as much fuel as it wants, any help would be appreciated. (non turbo as far as I know everything is stock)

Same problem (Loss of Power

Hay I am having the same problem 1984 13b engine. I have replaced the Throttle sensor, and was told to try and replace the ECU. Neither have fixed the problem. Some body out there has had this problem too and has fixed it we just need to find him. I will let you know if I come up with anything

Did you clean out the fuel lines? If rust got past the filter, it may be plugging up the secondary injectors.

Is there a way to clean the injectors that you could reccomend? I soaked them in carb cleaner but I dunno if that would clean the inside of them...

Send them out and have em done. Witch Hunter, R C Engineering, Cruiz Perfomance or even a local diesel shop may be able to do them.
