Oh god.... New to tuning rotaries or new to tuning in general? The process is the same as pretty much every other car. Yes there is "trickyness" and if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be doing it yourself.

Another reply might have been the following.
When you replace the rotor motor OEM flywheel with a lighter flywheel you need to include adding a counter weight that comes from an automatic transmissioned car of the same year group as the motor in your car. If you were to Google mazdatrix & do a little searching of the site you will find the information to identify automatic transmission counter weights for different year groups of rotor motors. Also if you go to the following site you would find more information about rotor motors than you know what to do with. mrmazda.no-ip.com/ Have Fun ;) David |

Car is an 84 se
Don't mean to thread jack but I have a simalar question. I have purchased some parts and reclamed some from scrap cars and im not exatly sure what parts are compatible. I have the Eshaft and fly wheel from 87 TII Housings and plates from 88 TII and the rotors are 86. Heres the major question? What counter weight do I need 87-88 tII or from the 86. And whats the difference between stationary gears from the early 13bs to the fd13b's, and which would be the best bet to use currently I have 86's? |
