Flex Fuel in a Rotary?

Does anyone know whether it would hurt a rotary if you used the E85 flex fuel? I was just curious becuase I know that it is better for the environment, and us rotary owners are some of the biggest polluters! Thanks!

I don't think you can just fill up w/ E85 and go. The FF vehicles I'm familiar with are able to sense what fuel is present and alter the engine management software appropriately. I'm with you on keeping things clean but if your emissions control equipment is working a rotary doesn't pollute any more or less than any other emission controlled internal combustion engine.

You could use it but you would need a managment system to add more fuel. E85 has higher octane but you need to add more so you need to increse your injector duty or even add larger injectors.

So in theroy you can run it but you will be burning more fuel and having less mileage.

well, I'm running a holley 4-barrel setup and im exempt from emissions because my 7 is over 25, so I have no emissions junk...think there might be a way aside from just tuning it to run even more rich?

Your worried about the eviroment and mileage and you have a holley 4 barrel on you car. Man are you confused!

Still wont work right till you jet it up or your have a new set of apex seals in your motor.

I got one, buy a hybrid civic they can fun flex and have a electric motor.
