F'ing DENT in rotor!!!

 I was cleaning my rotors today getting ready to put everything back together, when I noticed a dent in my front rotor. Its pretty substantial in size. I cant believe the car was making the power it did with that issue. :icon_no2:

Has anyone ever had an issue with a rotor denting?? I am going to take pictures to see the damage.

Denting is a common problem caused by detonation. It really will not effect your power level by any noticeable amount. Some claim it causes hot spots because carbon will "fill up" the dent but I have never seen more carbon on a dented area than the rest of the face of the rotor. This simply doesnt happen, if that was the case the "bowl" of the rotor would fill with carbon over extended periods of time which we all know doesnt happen.

Very large dents can actually pinch the apex seals and prevent them from "floating" up and down like they are supposed to. A dented rotor is not ideal but will run with no problems in a street application if it is a very slight dent. It is completely up to you and your budget if you decide to reuse the rotor.

After close inspection of the rear rotor I have found pitting by the edge. The pitting is pretty deep, is this normal? I believe I will scrap both rotors and start fresh. F@ck!!!!

One of my rotors has a decent size dent and it runs fine.
