fd3s 1993 flywheel mod

hello
I have a rx8 and I swap to 1993 FD engine with rx8 transmission and I need a clutch and pressure plate to fit the FD flywheel ..rx8 pressure plate no fit. how I can't do? maybe a fc turbo pressure plate and disc fit to FD flywheel?

call mazdatrix, they should know

FD uses a pull type clutch, RX8 went back to the traditional push type clutch. the flywheels should be nearly identical with the exception the FD flywheel is weight matched to that engine and should be used, the ring gear diameter is the same from FD to RX8 so theoretically the flywheels will work with either application but you will need the correct clutch for your transmission(buy a new RX8 clutch and toss the FD clutch in the garbage since it won't work with your configuration).

the stock flywheel IS the rear balancer for your engine and should be kept within its series of engine. use the FD flywheel and an RX8 clutch assembly and you shouldn't have a problem.

so rx8 pressure plate and clutch fit to 1993 flywheel?

considering the dimensions are the same between the 2 flywheels and i just fit an RX8 clutch to an early turbo flywheel i am going to say yes, it will. the splines on the RX8 clutch disc are also conveniently the same as the early turbo engines is, so the transmissions are also interchangable(but the FD hydraulics/clutch are an odd combo and have to be used with the FD transmission if you ever did go that route).
