Fd Oil Pressure Is Going Insane
 

ok after i fixed my vacuum problem and everything this beast has been running amazing i still dont think its puttin out what it should be but close enough for now...but im havin an issue with my oil pressure one a cold start the engine revs to 3 rpms and bounces down till right around 1 ish...i am assumin its primin the pressure or building a stable pressure?...but after driving for a bit if i punch it hard then go back to drivin normal pressure drop to below first line and at idle sometimes it hits bottom....this cant be good....i dunno if its bad but sure cant be good...also happens when i start up after being in class for a bit but i noticed if i bring the rpms like it norm does on a cold start the oil pressure is built up and remains strong...ah anyone got a clue on this one! thanks for help on last pot as well guys

On a cold start the FD has AWS which is accelerated warm-up. You can bypass it if you really wanted to by putting it in any gear before starting it. (Just keep your foot on the clutch :))

At idle, depending on how much oil you have in the system, hitting the bottom doesn't exactly mean anything bad. Mine does that at idle when I'm halfway full on the dipstick. Don't let your gauge worry you about your oil. Check your oil every weekend (or every other) and you won't have any doubts.

As with all Rotary Powered Cars, Don't Trust the stock gauges. It is proably a loose connection, get some after market Mech. Gauges

thanks yeah replaced oil filter changed oil and lots of other fluids over the last weekend and it did it still for a day or too but now its running pretty much perfect the pressure is great yeah i noticed how amazing the stock gauges actually work........ :fawk: .....<to the gauges! but yeah on start up it revs up to three and drops slwoly on cold starts on warm starts if i do it it seems to keep the pressure strong and regualted throughout the drive regardless if i punch it hard or not so IM HAPPY! no everything is running right time to do some mods to the engine!!!!! so excited! ah shoot oine more question but ill make new post for iot

The oil pressure sending units do go bad and its a common issue with the FD's.

Sometimes they can be fixed by cleaning the electrical contacts or the passage into the sender itself, but often they just need to be replaced.

I'm sure the bouncing you are describing is the TPS needing an adjustment. I think that is something you should check in the FSM.
