fd idleing at 4000 rpms, help!!!

I just got my manifold polished to match my greddy elbow and greddy fmic. I installed all 3 and when I started the car, it idled at 4000 rmps. Did I mess up some of the vac lines on the upper manifold or something? I thought I put them back in the same place. What would cause this? Thanks for your help! BTW, this is on a 1993 rx7.

It could be your idle adjust screw got turned by the buffing wheel when you had it polished, so just play with that and see if it idles better. :)

Yah, just check the idle adjustment pieces. Throttle cable, throttle screw, vacuum hoses, etc.. Unhook the throttle cable and see if it will lower the idle.

I checked the throttle cable, it seemed good. Could any of the vacume lines cause this?

I figured it out!! The gasket between the throttle body and the manifold is cracked and was leaking. I put my hand over it, and my rpm's dropped!

There ya have it:) Thanks for posting the fix!
