fd fuel filter question
 
ok i jus gave my new fd a complete nce tune up running great but it has 93k miles on it and i think an original or etremely old fuel filiter is it worth have the dealer just replace it for me or is it worth the trouble to replace it myself? i already have the filter....anyone who owuld know or has done it before know if its as hard as people say it is?...and can somone please jus give me a simple answer opposed to absolutley nothing at all...a simple do it or have them do it might be splended

Well if you want to save your self C note do it your self. They can be tricky they are on the rear sub frame to the right of the diff. You will have to take the heat sheild off to get at it.

Do a search and you should be able to find a right up about it.

I did mine in the garage with the car up on jack stands. I dont think I will do that again it took most the afternoon, so next i will find a lift.

the fuel filter is right above the diff, so it is hard to get to it but it can be done... I did mine in the garage on jack stands while I laid on my back... for me it was worth the trouble to do myself, because after I took it off, I just relocated between the rear subframe and the gas tank... this will make it easier to change next time in about 5min...

I would just do it yourself. It really is not that hard. The first time I did mine it took me about 2hrs. There are some good "how to's" on here that can tell you just how to do it.

holy shit thats a good fuckin idea yeah i tried i had it unbolts depressurized and everythings and just got to pissed at the things plus i was hungry more than anything i think ill just relocate it behind the subframe i had it up on stands one the shields were off everything came off easy how did you relocate made a brace or zip tie or what?.....also on that rob robinette guys website theres a k&n fuel filter on that anyone know if that things good ...the guy seems like a genious with the car...but was curious anyone else try it ?
