Error Codes on ECU 88 Turbo II Question, need help!!
I own a 88 Turbo II and have code checked the ECU with a code checker I made off of the internet. Basicly its two lights and when you turn the ignition on they both flash on, then after 3 seconds go out, if there is a sensor bad in the system, they will flash a morris code telling you which sensor is bad. Here's my problem, I have a HKS F-Con computer that piggybacks the ECU. With the FCON connected, if I turn the ignition on, I get two constant red lights and thats it. No codes, nothing. I took the FCON out and code checked the system, light go on, after 3 seconds go out.. then nothing-indicating no error codes- HOWEVER, my oxygen sensor is disconnected, and I'm not getting a error code. If I pull a plug off any other sensor(TPS, airflow meter etc) I get the proper error code. Also, the car won''t start now. I'm trying to determine if I have a BAD ECU, or a bad wiring harness in the car. I would think if my wiring harness was bad, shorted etc, it would give an error code for the defected sensor. Does this sound correct? I personally think the ECU has a dead spot in it dealing with the oxygen sensor, and now something else that won't let the car start. any inputs?-

Hey Bud,
Can you tell me how you made the code scanner? I have an 87 experiencing some trouble. Or at least can you tell me where you found the instructions on how to make a scanner for the RX-7? Thanks |
