ok, i got my new dis 4 from msd (they replaced the other one under warranty), and start my car up. it ran like crap for a little bit (considering how carbonated the engine probably was from all that unburned fuel) but now i have a different problem. i can sit in neutral and rev the engine all goddamned day, and its sounds like it did before and is smooth as silk. as soon as i start driving though (especially when it boosts) the engine has a wierd sputtering sound out of the exhaust. it isnt a hesitation because it still runs the powerband smooth, but it just sounds like ass and worries me. any thoughts on what it could be? im either thinking some wiring in the ignition (i.e. plug wires, etc) is screwed, because the dis2 and dis4 have a basic solid light all the time, or at worst maybe an apex seal. ive still got to run a compression test to be sure, but any thoughts would be extremely helpful.

I dunno what the hell kinda ignition system you're running, but running both a DIS-2 and a DIS-4???&nbsp What the hell for???

I still don't understand why you got A DIS-2 and DIS-4 running in your car.&nbsp Who the hell install/recommended such a set-up???

Who did the tuning on the car?&nbsp It sounds like the Autronic load maps aren't tuned very well...

as for the dis 2 and 4, it is because i am running four individual msd blaster coils. the dis 2 running the trailing coils and dis 4 running the leading. i probably could have gotten by with two dis 2s, but i got a helluva deal on the both of those. and i cant just run a dis 4 because i need four coil positive leads, and it only has two, and bridging the leading and trailing coil packs wouldnt be the best idea. and i also got the dis 4 because it has the tach adapter built in, whereas the dis 2 you have to buy that seperately. and btw, another thing about the car. it will idle fine when i start it cold and after driving for a little bit, but after awhile it doesnt want to idle. ive got to hold the brake and give it a little bit of gas at every damn stop just to keep it running. like i said before, i appreciate any help.

I am having the same problem with my 93 Auto, it started after a flooded engine drove me nuts to restart. But now the engine is running poor and sounds beautiful in Park, but under load when i gas it, it just hesitates and gargles some and even backfires all without pulling like it used to. Hope this doesnt mean I need a rebuild. Any help in this matter will gain my respect.
