 i have a 92 rx7, after 10min my engine is so hot that the water in the radiator and engine boils, although my heating gauge reads normal.
is this normal or do i have a serious problem.
if this is a problem has anyone else had it and if so what did u do to fix it.
please let me no.
thanks leon.

Check if your fans are working. If they are not, check for a burned fuse.

What do you mean boils? It's supposed to boil.

Thermostat, radiator caps, fans. Any of those acting up can cause the problems you're having.

Alternately, you can have the same effect (boiling looking water) if a coolant seal is blown and exhaust gasses are getting into the coolant.

Is this 10 minutes at idle or when driving? 10 minutes of idle shouldnt get anything that hot, but if it does definately check the fans to make sure they are turning on and check the coolant caps to make sure they seal. 10 minutes of driving I would be more inclined to look at the thermostat not opening and once again check the caps for leaks.

If it looks or sounds like it is boiling but maybe it really isnt then it is probably a bad coolant seal.

Mazda didn't make a '92 model RX-7, they continued to sell the '91. So you have a S5, I assume -- not that it makes a difference in this case. Test your thermostat per the FSM, but it sounds more like a coolant seal problem.

Where do you check the coolant seal???

Mines having the same troubles... Cept my thermostat is taken out. and no leaks.
