emissions questions
 

Im looking at buying a TII but when i ran a carfax it showed that it hadnt passed emissions in like 3 years. Does this mean I just need to replace the cat? What else could be wrong with it and how much would it cost be to fix?

I'm in the same boat up here in Canada..the 88 RX7 I got will be going in for emissions soon ..i've been readin this forum and there is alot of info that can help you out ..just gotta look for it!..I'm changing the plugs,wires,fuel filter,changing the oil and filter (i think i got a new cat)..if YOU don't have a Catalytic converter get one or borrow one ...if you have to use The recipe!!..(research..The recipe)you will know what i mean when you find it!..try and find a way to get air to the cat via the air pump..(more research)..myself ..i'm doing all of what I found out about passing the test to the car then I'm going in...if it doesn't pass worst case is buyin another car!..whoopie!!!...since we all know one should be able to do seeing we are giving these cars our life's blood!!!and our wallet's contents!!!good luck and i'll post my results and hope you do the same..Catch ya later from Canada!!
