Edumacation <-- can I has it?

Well I've got a 350Z, and after running behind another local up at the dragon a few times (turboback, interceptor engine management, few other boltons...around 320 whp with 315/275 tires) I've kinda found myself yearning for a 3rd gen. the ammount of rubber you can run on them, how light they are, how much power they can produce, the balance, the looks. its almost a perfect car. the only question is reliability.

I've found a couple with around 65,000 miles and I'm wondering what all would be required to build a 3rd generation RX-7 with that many miles (upwards of 50k) to reliably produce 330-350 whp in a racing environment. I'll be doing mainly Solo II, some time attack, and the occasional track day. I've been looking at the Atkins master rebuild kit, some oil coolers & radiators. any ideas? if this is way too noob just delete & tell me to search. I'm used to it, the Z forums are pretty brutal on new guys ^_^ thanks for any input.

65000 could be near the end of the original engines life, but you said you were looking at rebuilding it anyways. i think you should be able to get to your hp goal with the stock sequentials, but might be pushing it. if you upgrade the ecu, injectors, fuel pump, get a DP, bigger intercooler, and run 15 psi i think you could.
