i cant get the big nut that holds the flywheel weight on. does it loosen clockwise or coutner clockwise? is there any trick to getting it off? thanks
|
please rewrite your question. it says "on" then later "off."
|
Yeah. I meant off

2 1/8 inch socket fits it. u need a long breaker bar/pipe and something to hold the flywheel still. lefty loosey. it is made so that as the engine turns it will keep the nut from loosening.

Great.. Thanks

54mm socket, if you want you can hammer it with a flathead screw driver for a good hour and then get a huge adjustable wrench and hammer it off, ive done this before and it took bout a hour and half. Now I end up using a flywheel stopper with a 3/4 breaker bar and a 54mm socket. Its held on by 300 pounds of tourqe. not easy to get off.

Find a buddy with a big impact wrench, or get the 1/2" Earthquake from Harbor Freight

bring it to me, i'll loosen it for you.
