Does "break-in" affect emissions?

Got a dumb question. Ok, I bought my car with an engine fire but I'm rebuilding it anyways. Nothing fancy, just rebuilding my car to full stock specs. Emissions (acv, air pump, splitter pipe, etc.) all intact.

But I got to register the car and smog it right after. Does a new engine run "dirtier" during its break in process? Am I able to pass smog still?

If the engine is overhauled correctly it should not effect the emissions. I would put a few hundred miles on it prior to testing. Ps What does the response "bump" mean? I see it a lot.

Yeah, I think I am able to put maybe 100-200 miles before I smog. **crosses fingers**

Bump just means to bring the thread back up from the bottom.
