Does any f*ckin body know how do set the timing?
 

come on ive tried and tried and still no one at this site has been able to help me. my cars fuckin up and i now know its my timing some can some one plllllllllease help me out and tell me how to fix my timing cus i know its not the same as a piston engine

Haynes Manual has a great description of how to do it.

Um. It's pretty much the same as a piston engine.

There are two marks on the main shaft pulley. Hit them with whiteout or paint or fingernail polish or something. They used to be red and yellow, but they're no longer colored.

Start engine. Adjust idle to below 1000 RPM, and jumper the initial set coupler. Set timing for the leading plugs by rotating the CAS (little thing off the side of the front housing that can be rotated). Move the pickup to the trailing wires. The other mark should be aligned - if it's WAY off, you set the timing to the wrong mark. Reset it.

Remove initial set coupler & go.

Follow up question. Doing this on an 85 12A NA, stock ignition.

Leading times out ok. Trailing is all over the map. Changed ignitor, same symptoms. Changed Coil, same symptoms. See some flashes where its on the pulley, many others where its seemily 60deg off in either direction like the timing is entirely erratic.

Anyone have any suggestions?
