Cranks but wont Start...88 Vert
Hello my brother,
Long time no post. 88 Vert has been sitting on PNO for over a year. I was cranking the engine like once a month..........but sadly, I have not done so over 6 months or more. I wanna get it on the road again......NEW battery, cranks, but it wont fire up. Pray tell me that it's just a minor issue. It has gas and it was running JUST FINE before I put in on PNO.... Help a Brother plz......... |
Could have bad or no gas. Start with simple shit.

I put 5 gallons of fresh gas in it..........

Look up Deflooding and start that process.
Sometimes the car will tend to get some extra gas in the housings, and when you go to start it,the car will not want to start due to sitting. This happen a a lot with moving the car from spot to spot quickly and also cars that have sat awhile. It comes down to the Injection system and if the car has been maintained. If the car sat a while then the injectors could have let some gas by and now when you go to start it,it is like flooded. When you use the "oil trick" in deflooding, just roll the car over say 8 times or so to coat the internals. |
have you confirmed fuel and spark?
maybe try some starter fluid. |
