Crank Position sensors
OK here is the deal. I am installing a new engine in my car / 94 RX ....the thing is in and fired up but is smoking like hell and is running RUFF. The smoke smells like gas. I think the timing is off. When I disassembled I labeled everything but the two electrical connections that go to the crank position sensors. Does anyone know if the white plug is on the top sensor or the gray.

the NE sensor goes closest to the pully or higher on the engine the wire colors are green and black
the G sensor obviously goes in the other spot it has red and white wires the NE connector is white the G connector is grey this should help |
this happened to me as well, except after I was getting a check engine light code of 3(crank sensor "G"). will test it soon. Do I need to set the timing , I thought that the computer took care of timing?

Just wanted to add that had this exact same problem and it worked like a charm. Common no start problem on fresh builds.

does anybody out there know if the NE sensor has different colored wires for a 1993 model? mine seems to be yellow and orange.
All i have is the 1994 wiring manual?? |
