Cooling goeroes plz help
I'm going to make a V mount kit myself and have a total blank sheet to begin with.
I'll have a custom rad fabbed up having thesame (or as good as) dimensiosn as the stock rad. Though my concept is to have the endtanks on the sides instead of top and bottom. Makes the rad less wide, so more space too work with to prevent getting nicked on t he botom side. A oem replacement rad needs customisation for the piping, this one won't. idea is let water enter on the passenger side top of the end tank and get out on the driver side bottom of the end tank. also from a flui dynamics point of view this shoyuld give better division of the cooling water over the rad surface. anyone done this already? ofr have any tips, tricks...? Many thanks |

I don't really understand the benefit of just changing the end tanks.

it will simplify the installation of the V mount + having fluids run from left to right will give a better distribution of the fluids over the rad.
now water enters on top in a certain spot, 'falls through' the rad and leaves the rad. Like this the rad is not being forced to use it's maximum potential. |
Have a dual pass rad built. Then you can keep both hoses on the passenger side.

Yes that's also a possibillity. I just don't know how common or uncommon this is when it comes to water radiators.
