Coolant flush on FC
Just bought a 1987 mazda fc gx and the coolant looked a bit dirty and i just want to know i have fresh coolant. I simply want to know the best way to drain it, i know the plug is on driver side radiator, where the air bleed plug is, and ovbiously the rad cap is.
Thanks |
I'm not sure what you mean by the "best way", it's fairly simple, as you already discovered.
If your radiator is still the stock plastic piece of garbage, I'd leave the radiator plug alone. The radiator plastics get fragile when old. If you want, the block drain plug is located on the driver's side of the engine by the motor mount. This will drain all the coolant from the engine. It can be a PITA to get to though, so I rarely use that vs. just disconnecting the lower radiator hose or pulling the plug on the radiator. |
ok thanks for the advice, i forgot to ask in the post somehow but whats the proper procedure for filling it up, i know to flush it till no trace of coolant.
