Coolant Alarm

I would like to thank everyone in andvance for their advice.

I recently purchased my first FD (I know, newbie, virgin, problem child, etc.) and when I start the car the Engine Coolant Light and Alarm switches on until the vehicle has been running for a few minutes. After it warms up, it is fine. The car went through $1800.00 in repairs to a coolant leak in May, 2005. The current engine has 33-34 thousand miles on it.

Any advice?

AJ

coolant level sending unit or you have an air pocket in the cooling system. I know FDs have a bit more intricate cooling systems than my FB so make sure you check your air separation tank (swirl tank). Also next time you drive it (after it has completely cooled down, like in the morning) top off your radiator.

coolant light will also come on if the system has been overfilled.
