Cold Start Assist System
My '86 n/a still has the cold start assist tank/system intact.
Is there any advantage to removing it or, should I just leave it as is? Thanks for your opinions. Joe |
It won't hurt anything to leave it, but it won't help anything either. Mazda issued a TSB in 1990 that they were removing the system, and instructing dealerships how to remove the system on earlier vehicles.

Thanks for the reply!
I didn't think there was any down-side to leaving it as it is but, it's nice to know for sure. joe |
I put whiskey in my Cold start assist bottle.
Now when I start the car it goes directly to a Bar! Seriously though,I just removed the Jug,along with the Part on the manifold(88 N/A) and used a small piece of aluminum as a block off plate. |

Ah. Is the correct way you advised? If so I have a 13B T swap. Does removing the part on the manifold this still apply?

Ah, ok. Thank you I will look into the do-hickey on the manifold, remove it and install a block off plate.
