Clutch system problems

check this out...i got a 3rd gen and i live in the traffic hell called downtown LA and i have this habit of depressing my clutch while in heavy traffic w/o taking the seven out of gear. i've started noticing that if i depress the clutch in too long, i feel the pressure begin to ease even though the pedal is pushed in all the way. when the pedal is let up, i can feel that the point of engagement is noticably lower by an inch or 2. in extreme cases, the clutch will engage a little while completely depressed for an extended period of time. this gets annoying cuz when this happens in traffic, my seven will stall out before i notice it happening. becuz of this, i only drive my seven at night when there is little or no traffic. other than that, the seven drives fine.

rx7club.com is the greatest wealth of info for my seven. i've heard that i may have to change my clutch line to a SS one...or even change out the clutch master cylinder. whatever the problem, anyone's expertise is greatly appreciated. :D

Sounds like a slave cyl. problem to me.

I would opt for SS clutch line, and Check to see if the master cylinder is bleeding off.

with my experience with this same prob, it's either the slave cyl and/or clutch master cyl. even if there's no obvious signs of leaks, the seals in these cylinders, with age, will allow the fluid to "seep" past them, especially in the areas inside the cylinder where there is pitting.
