Clutch Housing Cover Question (See Picture)

Just a quick stupid question: is the vent hole on the clutch housing cover (this is a 3rd gen) supposed to be covered? I noticed mine is not and just wondering if I lost a metal cover shield somewhere along the line. I checked parts sheet and don't see a part number for this shield (if it exists), but its not very clear there either.

Can someone tell me if they have a shield at this vent hole? See the hole circled in red on the picture. Thanks.

There should be a small bit of gray foam in there to filter the dirt out .
