Ceramic turbos

I have a 99 type R import and just got a E boost controller and A/F gauge with wideband sensor, so what im wondering is what can i boost to without causing the ceramic turbos to explode.
my room mate has a 96 supra and he says he found somewhere that says 14 - 15psi is the safe max for their stock ceramic turbos, are rx7 ones the same or less?
I do plan on upgrading the ECU and injectors as well, just trying to compile all the data here during the winter months so when i take her out of storage in the spring i can just get to work and have everything installed asap

Edit: should probably have been posted in rotary car performance, could a mod move me over there?

the Rx7 turbos are not ceramic.

that being said 12-14psi is the happy spot, they aren't really big enough to move more air than that

Are you sure they are not ceramic in JDM series 8 cars, I was under the impression that they were given ceramic turbos like the later model supras in 99 and the wiki article says they are equipped with "more efficient turbos", what else could that mean?

'99 FD3S

the impellers were made a little smaller in diameter, a little wider, and the compressor was given an abradeable seal.

no ceramic.

Awesome, thanks for that :) it would have been nice if that info was put into the Wikipedia article somewhere,

I'd go and fix all the inaccuracies in the RX-7 Wikipedia section and some idiot would go and change them and make the information incorrect again.

Same here. Is why I stopped bothering a long time ago. [citation needed]
