Car Starts, but wont move

I took my car out yesterday and when i shifted from 1st to 2nd a puff of blackish grey smoke came out of the exhaust and i experienced a great loss of power. Ever since then my engine idles roughly and when i put my car in 1st gear and let the clutch out the engine dies. My neighbor said it could be a vacum line that popped off or split. Any ideas and help would be appreciated.

Does the engine rev normally while the car is in neutral? Check for vaccuum lines. Finding a vaccuum leak can sometimes be like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles. If you don't find any disconnected hoses, you need to start checking where the intake manifolds join together. Get a can of spray ether or something flammable. Spray small burst around the intake manifold and where it joins to the engine. caution: this shit is flammable. Don't spray long burst and don't spray it on the exhuast manifold. I am not liable if you burn your car down!
If you spray it near the intake and the RPMs rev up, then the leak is in that area because the ether got sucked in and went into the intake path and to the rotors. Make sense? Good luck

Also, you may want to do a compression check to see if you have good compression.

3rd, what year/model RX-7 is this? Is it even an RX-7? You have to tell us these things. What modifications are done to it, any? Did you just do some major maintenance to the car like rebuild the engine, or did you just wake up and take it for a drive and all of a sudden it lost power?
