Can low compression (45psi) be anything other than a bad seal?
 

90psi front rotor, 45psi rear rotor...Is there such a thing as a 'stuck' or 'sticky' apex seal? could i solve this problem any other way than taking the engine out?

Did you try and dump some mmo in the rear chamber? If not try that and let it sit overnight and then try and fire it up.

Yah, they can stick. Like rxseven said, see if you can do the "ATF" trick first. How did this happen? When did you measure it? Was the car running before hand? Was it warm when tested?

hey guys, i just bought my first rotory engine vehicle a few days ago. i also have a 91 talon tsi awd, but im looking very foward in working on the 87 rx7. its a non turbo, but its still good enough for me just having a rotory engine. so anyways i have the same problem with compression. i have 93 in the front and 58 in the rear. any suggestions would help, i tried the atf in the plug hole, but it didnt seem to do much, but i dont know if there is a certain way that it is needed to be applied. and what is mmo?? so get back to me on here or give me an email at picknik1@hotmail.com, thanks to all who may help.

sorry about the double post, my comp froze and it didnt seem to go through. my bad....

MMO is Marvel Mystery Oil. You can also just use plain old ATF. Remove a spark plug from the appropriate rotor(s) and put in a few tablespoons worth.
