can anyone help me.....

i have seemed to run into an issue............to put into a nut shell, went to go out and stat up the "ferrari" (so to speak) and it initially started up fine; about two minutes later it all of a sudden started running like it was sort of missing.....i have already done a tune-up on it so i have kinda rules out plugs, wires etc. i remove exaust from manifold thinking it might have been the cat. but it wasn't......i'm kinda torn up as to what it might be....coils,emmisions,ecu??????manual dosen't list a troubleshooting section....and would you believe mazda doesn't have a clue and there is no one in town who wants to touch it....can anybody give me some insight or possible direction.......
thnx

what color are the plugs . . . black, tan, wet with oil? give us some details "running like it was missing" doesn't tell us much. Is the fuel in the midline of the windows on either side of the carb?

well the car is an 86 rx7.non turbo (fuel injected)...plugs are a dark brown/black.....fuel rail is on the passenger side.....fuel line is on the drivers side...sorry to sound ignorant but what does this have to do with the problem??? could the issue be injectors????

thnx for the reply...

p.s. car just broke 100,000 km.
might use 1/2 litre. per oil change

the color and condition of the plugs tell you whether the engine is running the correct mixture, or not. Sounds like you are running rich, from your description. I'm more of an early RX person - I only know the carby versions of 12a engines so you'll need to keep asking, but I'd suspect that perhaps a vacuum hose has come off lately causing the bad idle.

It's really hard to tell over the internet, but sounds like it's time to check all ofyour vacuum hoses, computer codes, whatever else you can troubleshoot on an 86 NA . . .
