burrs on corner seals

Im rebuilding my 13bT and had a few corner seals that were being stubborn and would not come out from all the carbon build-up. I used a screw driver and got the seal to turn enough that I could use an old apex seal to tap it out from behind. Using the screw driver put a small burr on the groove on the corner seal that protrudes out and will affect its sealing. Is there anyway I can sand/file the face of the seal to make sure its flat and will seal? Its just a very small burr on it. Other than that these corner seals have hardly any wear on them. I was thinking like some 600 grit on a piece of glass would be just fine, its not like im taking off material. just enough to get the burr off.

this is something that i have always thought of doing, but have never ACTUALLY done. on paper, i don't see an issue with it if you can find something to file the burr down.

that said, i have thought of the "what can go wrong"-scenarios and torquing (during removal) that thing enough to create the burr leads me to think of cracks that may not reveal themselves until it's back in use.

If you've damaged a corner seal why not just replace it with a new one?

You're doing a rebuild, the idea there is to REPLACE the shit that's DAMAGED...

Yes you can fix it with a file. The file will only cut the high points down and shouldn't mess up the rest of the surface. Don't use sand paper because it will round the edges.

The metal is soft but hard. I think it's powered metal. Burrs occour from looking at them with a sharp stare. The file is easy to use and works perfectly for this.

Ok figured for less than $100 bucks I dont want to do this again anytime soon. So I just ordered new OEM mazda corner seals and the wave springs.
