BNR with a stock car?

Does anyone have bnr turbos on their 3rd gen rx7 that is all stock? I have a brand new engine from ray to put in my 95 rx7 but found some oil in my stock turbos so before i put it all back together i would like to hear from some plp if they have any troubles with keeping stock boost levels with the bnr 3s. I talked with bryan from bnr and he said they could have some small lag from primary transitionto secondary. I have stock ic and stock ecu, I dont have a high post count to post in 3rd generation specfic.

You would need a bigger ic and some kind of tuning to run those even at stock boost levels, they move more air period

I have a buddy running the BNRs at around 10 - 12 lbs with just the Greddy/Trust SMIC. You should have upgraded your SMIC anyway so this shouldn't be a big deal.

Looks like my best bet is upgrade my ic and ecu. probly do intake at the same time, hope to find a good map to load bc cant get the car tuned at this time. im looking to hear from anyone running this set up? does it work ? is it worth it? Thanks for the help.

IM thinking PFC . pettit ic/ intake and down pipe -highflow cat new rad , stock ports, keeping sequentail setup bnrs ,and stock boost levels.

Honestly you should be fine running the BNR Stage 3's on an otherwise stock car. The difference, in power, between stockers and BNR's at stock boost levels is negligible.

Keep in mind that if you make all those other changes then you may end up running higher than intended boost. If you run higher (than 13psi) boost then you'll need to upgrade your fuel system...

One thing leads to another, a la "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie", when it comes to modifying.

I would say just get the BNRs (since they are stronger and won't jack up any balances) and a downpipe then just enjoy the car. If ANYTHING get a simple water injection kit to help with intake temps and predetonation.

Wrong. What kind of proof do you have to back this statement up?

When I went from stock HT12 twins to BNR stage 3s several years ago I saw little to no difference in power below 14-15psi. BNRs are able to continue flowing air effectively at a higher psi, that's it.

Yea I'm pretty curious as well. I was under the same impression as you.

if boost is left the same, the larger turbos will not generate as much heat as the stock ones. They will make the same psi boost while spinning at a lower RPM. This means you wont need an intercooler anymore than you needed one with the stock turbos.

If anything, fuel would be a concern *if* they flow considerably more than the stock turbos do @ 10psi. I don't know if they do or not.

If your intake and exhaust is still semi-stock, I doubt you will have a fuel issue.
