Blew my first rotary?

Went to start my car this morning and it sounded fine cranking then it kinda felt like it broke loose and its spinning way to fast now. Does loss of compression cause this?
Starter sounds really high pitched.
I tested the compression about 6 months ago and I had like 80-110 on all rotor faces. Now it is reading 50 on all 3 front faces and like 5-10 on the rear.. Kinda hopin I was doing something wrong.
Any info?
Guess its a perfect time to swap the turbo II drivetrain if I can find it.

probably carbon stuck seals.

ImpartialMouse 11-21-11 11:19 PM

Is this fixable in anyways without tearing the engine down?

RotaryEvolution 11-21-11 11:21 PM

add about a tablespoon of MMO to each chamber and reinstall the plugs and turn it over. if that doesn't work then try pull starting it. run it until it warms up then hopefully it is all ok to shut down.

if you get it started i would recommend a water or carb cleaner treatment on the engine to decarbonize it.

ImpartialMouse 11-21-11 11:26 PM

Car runs really rich so I say its a good possibility. This may sounds stupid but whats MMO?
Your post just made my day.

Alex Rodriguez 11-21-11 11:41 PM

Marvel Mystery Oil =MMO

RotaryEvolution 11-21-11 11:46 PM

what he said^

you can find it at most any auto parts store.

ImpartialMouse 11-22-11 07:33 AM

Alright I'll check my local store today! I'm honestly in there more than anybody =/.
How exactly do you do a water or carb cleaner treatment? Would a seafome treatment or MMO in the gas tank do about the same thing?

ImpartialMouse 11-22-11 12:30 PM

Just realized how I spelled seafoam. I am not stupid just wasn't thinking haha.

RotaryEvolution 11-22-11 12:55 PM

if it is carbon sticking then you don't want to use a method that takes several hundred miles to process. basically the carbon that naturally builds up negates it anyways.

ImpartialMouse 11-22-11 03:09 PM

So how would I get rid of the carbon quickly?

ImpartialMouse 11-22-11 03:19 PM

Nevermind I did a search haha. Will do the water treatment if I can get it running.
Thanks for all the help Karack and I will let you know the results!

ImpartialMouse 11-22-11 05:05 PM

Karack you really saved me a lot of money! That MMO worked great and I did a good water treatment on the engine =)! Took a little persuasion but after two days of constant abuse to my yellow top and starter (unflooding and flooding again), pushing the car over 20 mph down the road trying to get it started, I finally just casually cranked it over and it fired up playing with the throttle a little. It's still running as we speak but starts back up fine. I'm gonna run the sea foam in the tank to get another good amount of the carbon out.
I am a very happy person and had a very accomplished day! Some of the people on this forum are very helpful and I always see you (Karack) stepping up and helping people like me with no benefit to yourself. Thats what makes this a great community.
I recommend an Rx7 to anyone for a first car if they are in high school or not. Its a great experience fixing the things that go wrong and learning as you go.

yea I just happend to choose an rx7 as my first car when I was 16 in high school. Best choice I ever maid in my life. and yes the club is a very amazing place.

i do get the benefit of referrals, which happens to be the majority of my customer base. you're welcome and just keep me in mind if you ever do really need an engine built. ;)
