Best person for rebuild

I have a 93+ 13btt that i'm needing rebuilt, from looking around when someone is selling their car and they say it has been rebuilt everyone wants to know by who, so my assumption is there are some people out there that are known and thats the type of person i want to do it. So any advice would be appreciated, how much am i looking at spending?

I am not sure if there is someone close to Lafayette that will be easy for you.

Are you planning on shipping the engine out for it to be rebuilt or what? What kind of rebuild are you looking for? Cheap as can be or done right?

What is wrong with the motor right now?

If you do need a rebuild, check into Banzai Racing. I have not dealt with them personnaly, but they seem to do good work, and are located in Indiana.

I want it done right. I will ship if need be. There isn't anything wrong with the motor, its just jdm and id rather just get it rebuilt right off maybe ported, so i dont have to worry as much later on and i know its clean and done right. I need to rebuilt but i'm putting the motor into a first gen so there will be some custom fab to be done. Not sure if i need to have the rebuilder do that or if my mechanic in town can do it after the fact. thanks guys for the replys

The only person I would trust to do it right is Ryan Shook at Shook motorsports.

If you're local to Banzai Racing then certainly consider them as they've proven to turn out quality work.

If you are looking to ship, my shop specializes in FD performance builds, and we offer a 1 yr warranty on our work (build related failures).

Nice site goodfella! looks legit, you have the price of labor but what are the price of the parts? I'm gonna look into banzai as well.

Give Karack a pm. He's a reputated engine rebuild that lives in Vegas.

Parts prices vary based on what we find inside the engine, they can be as low as ~$200 and go up from there. Pricing for a complete rebuild with *all* new springs, seals, o-rings, etc can be around $1000.

You have many other options if you decide to ship the engine out, AZRR, rx7.com just to name a few.

Be careful shopping around based on price, some places are cheaper because they replace less parts and also check and clearance less parameters during the course of the build.

i recommend AZRR if your willing to ship :)

There are definitely so many options out there but the only one I can comment on from experience is Banzai-Racing, who built my engine. They were great to deal with and I shipped my engine to them from NY. I couldn't believe the price cause when I called around to different shops I was told right off the bat they would need to replace a bunch of parts and I was better off buying a reman and having that torn down and built back up, which is expensive. The only problem with my engine was coolant seal failure and Banzai was upfront and honest the whole time, even took it apart and emailed me a link of the step by step process the very same day they got it. I ended up having it ported and my grand total was $1900, $1500 for the rebuild and $400 for the porting. I have about 9k miles on it now and it's a strong engine and with all the supporting mods it is as reliable as any of my friends Hondas out here, if not more than some, lol. If their close I say use them cause you'd be hard pressed to beat them, you can definitely find a good amount of others that offer just as good of service, as there are a good amount reputable people especially within this forum. You've got a few options, so what I would suggest is get in touch with multiple places and see which ones you mesh with the best and are the most convenient for you and make your decision off that. Best of luck to you.

Thanks to everyone, you guys have been more than helpful with this matter. There are lots of places out there that are scared to touch these cars, and there are lots of places out there that will say they can do it, but really cant, its nice to have a list of reputable places.
