Bearing sound(sounds like a tweeety bird in my engine)
ok ever since i let my dumbass cousin drive my car around this nieghboorhood i was letting him go to shop nearby(john's body shop and deatiling) then as we came up on the stores garage door theres a hill going upwards so he stalls on the hill or whateveer then i start hearing this noise coming from the wheels (front) sounds squeaky as if a bird tweets....its annoying what could it be?
thanks a bunch |
Probably dirt stuck under the brake pad. Does it make it all the time?

I'M BRINGING THIS THREAD
BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! I've got an 88 GTU, fyi, and very clean. I'm bring it back mostly because I have the same issue as above, only on both sides. Can't tell if it's the bearings, the pads, the rotors...??? I'll turn right at 25 mph, I get jingling, or chirping, from one side. I turn to the other, it happens again. when I'm headed straight and it isn't jingling, I press slightly on the brakes and it starts up again. Foot off of the brakes, it stops. At higher speeds it is pretty much a constant. Much lower and it doesn't happen at all. Any ideas? Experience? Thanks! Zack |
Probably wheel bearings. Lift up the front of the car and grab the tires at the 3 and 9 position and move the wheel around. If the wheel moves around then the wheel bearing is bad.
But don't confuse movement with the steering rack movement. |
Thanks. I'll get it up and test it soon.
