battery upsell

So my single conversion is.due to start this Wednesday on my 94 and my mechanic mentioned to me that my deka battery (400cc) would not be powerful enough and that everything would react slower and that there is a chance of losing an injector and leaning it out. He recommended that I purchase a new kinetic batttery rated at 800 cc. I just bought the deka this season and am not sure if he is just trying to upsell me or this is a.serious issue. As far as I know cars run off the alternator once they are going so I don't understand why I need a new stronger more expensxive battery when the current one starts it just fine

I think hes been doin too much acid.
The battery has squat to do with the electronics once the car is started. It is only used to start the car...and play the freakin stereo when parked!
If I am wrong,then I Just had a Flashback.(yes I grew up in the 70's)

Lol sounds about right to me I might just run a voltage stabilizer to ensure things run smoothely

a smaller battery will induce more electrical noise into the car but it's not as big of a deal as some will make it sound. yes it is mainly for running things when the engine isn't running, once the engine is running the alternator is doing all the hard work.

If you're going to upgrade, upgrade the spec that the battery uses when the alternator isn't doing the work: its AH Rating/Reserve Capacity.

My 20B FC uses a Deka Intimidator 9A48, intended for a 6.0L Silverado. A respectable 760CCA, but rated at 70AH compared to the stock 55AH. It's ridiculously powerful when you need it the most.

Packaging the battery in the storage bins is where the ingenuity is. The 9A48 fits a FC's bins very well, but you're going to have much more difficulty packing this 50lb monster in a FD's storage bins.

you can fit just about anything in the FC storage bins, i was using our old Mercedes 300DT turbo diesel battery at one point in time when my battery was taking a dump. it was like traction control and passenger side weighting..

The thing with the smaller battery is that it is great if the car has been tuned properly.
Bear with me.
But if you have a starting issue(like it takes a substantial cranking) to get the car going, then it would be better to Upgrade. That way you have a little more juice to play with for times when the car is stubborn. Then you won't get stranded.
I have an Optima in my Passenger bin in my FC.I rewired the cables too,so now the car can sit and crank on and off for a half hour.( did that)...It had a Coil issue..Now it's fine.
