Battery Cable Clamp Replacement help!!!

hey guys,

my battery is out of my 2nd Gen and everything is cleaned and corrosion free...

now im just about to snip the positive lead and replace the battery post clamp with a new one.

i see there are 2 wires leading into the positive clamp.
before i cut them, is there anything i should know?

is it as simple as just snipping both wires and attaching them to the new clamp?

thanks guys... an answer would be appreciated ASAP.

you should get all new cables
clamp on connectors work, but kinda suck

but yeah
they just clamp onto the wire

It's better to buy new cables. Those replacement cable ends r only temporary fixes.

If you go to a car audio place (or department) you will find gold plated battery posts. These work much better than the other types, which are temp. fixes. The +ve ones almost always have two or more holes for cables. These are great connectors. The two wires you have do get connected to the battery - ie you can connect them together (one is for the starter and the other is for the rest of the car). I've done both cable ends on my 3rd gen with these things, and they work great. The best way to test is after they are installed, start up the car, turn on all the electrical stuff, including the headlights. Do the battery connections get warm? If so, the connectors are not installed well or are junk.
